Image Management Strategies (Recap of Ep4 of Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets)

TW: religious abuse, sexual abuse, family cover-up of abuse, psychological abuse, retaliation for abuse allegations.

Most of this episode discusses sexual abuse and child pornography. There's a short section 13:55-22:55 that discusses the plan for Christian homeschoolers to go to Washington and republican politics, and also current youtube Christina influencers. Then, 39:40-end is free of triggers around sexual abuse, and discusses the hope of survivors of IBLP.

The episode talks about how the Duggar family and friends respond to Josh Duggar's charges of child pornography and his previous allegations of sexual abuse. There's also discussion of abuse charges and also legal retaliation. There's a short portion about how conservative Christians are trying to hold cultural power through politics and social media. We also talk a bit about the survivors of IBLP and how they've been healing and recovering from trauma.

This is the last of a four episode series called Too Many Cults, where Krispin and Lindsay Strannigan (from The Holy Ghosting Podcast, and DL’s sister) recap the docuseries Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets on Amazon Prime.
